Overall this is a pretty good album, I enjoyed it. It was different than the previous 2, it seems more raw and less produced. This could be due to the fact that he's not on a label any more and that he produced it himself. One unusual thing is the inclusion of lyrics, both in english and japanese.

Ride On is a straight rock n' roll song, a strong one to start off the album. California is about his life here and it seems to have a positive outlook on it. This song has a cool piano outro and a piano part during the song, which is different from his stuff on his second album, it sounds pretty nice.

Spazed is a great song, one of my favorites on the album, and it's a bit different than his other songs, which I like. Primitive man is a strange song which took me a while to get used to, but it has a good story behind it, basically you can be happy with only a few things in life. (which seems consistent with Izzy's). Trance Mission is probably my favorite song on the whole album. It's an instrumental which is reminiscent of tribal music and middle eastern music and is compelling. I think I can listen to this one on repeat for a long time. I didn't like groper or here comes the rain that much. Needles is similar to some of his old work, but it has some cool slide guitar in it. The groper has a nice acoustic intro, but I didn't like that one as much. Hometown is a simple song, but its about appreciating where you come from and how sometimes things are better in your home town. Izzy probably realized this when he went back to Indiana. Highway Zero is a really cool song too, pretty complex musically.

My favorite songs on the album were Spazed, Highway Zero, Trance Mission and Primitive Man.

Overall I would give it a 7 out of 10. It's a cool album, but I think Izzy could do a lot better if he took longer with his albums. Also, I think the album should have had more songs, maybe 14-16 because I'm sure that he has quite a few on the backburner. Bottom line is, if you're a fan of Izzy Stradlin' then you will enjoy the album and I recommend buying it.
